FIFTY FIFTH POST FOR BIBLE READING

Standard

Peace be unto you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Today we will read Genesis 9:18-23

Let us start with a prayer:

Father God Almighty, our father and our God, we pray that you give us the understanding of your word. Father, let your Holy Spirit direct us as we write this blog. Bless our blog and bless everyone who reads it. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior we pray. Amen.

Let’s continue where we left off!

Open your bible to Genesis 9:18-23

18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) 19 These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.

20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

Verse Eighteen: Noah’s three sons who came out of the ark with him were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.

Verse Nineteen: The people scattered over the whole world all derived from the three sons of Noah.

Verse Twenty: Noah was a farmer who subsequently planted a vineyard.

Verse Twenty-One: When Noah drank some of the wine he produced himself, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.

Verse Twenty-Two: One of Noah’s sons, named Ham who is the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.

Verse Twenty-Three: Ham should have been the one to cover up his father and protect his dignity, but instead he went outside to get his brothers so they can see their father’s drunken state. Shem and Japheth, however, honored their father even in that drunken state by taking a garment and laying it across their shoulders, and walking in backwards so they could cover their father’s nakedness. They walked in backwards so that they would not see their father naked. There is a reward in heaven for people with hearts like Shem and Japheth.

Thank you for reading the bible with me.

I want you to know, that no matter who you are out there or what your history is, God promises salvation to you and the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s son, cleanses you from all sin. No matter what you have done you will be forgiven and saved as long as you accept Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, that He sent down here from heaven to be a sacrificial lamb for the cleansing of our sins so that our names can be written in the book of life guaranteeing a spot in heaven for us.

Jesus Christ is coming soon, sooner than you think! He could come back for his followers at anytime, so we should make ourselves ready. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, pray this with me from your heart: Lord Jesus I’m a sinner, you died on the cross to save me from my sin, you shed your precious blood to wash away every taint, every stain and now I believe in you Jesus. I accept you as my Lord and my savior. Come into my heart, save me with your precious blood. In your Holy name I pray. Amen.

I hope you prayed that prayer with me. God willing, I’ll see you on Monday.
