Peace be unto you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Today we will read Genesis 19:12-17

Let us start with a prayer:

Our Father God Almighty, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father we pray that you give us the grace to always do your deed and your will. Have your Holy Spirit come and direct this blog as we interpret your word. Bless our blog, Lord and bless everyone who reads it for thy is the kingdom, the power, the glory, forever and ever. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

Let’s continue where we left off!

Open your bible to Genesis 19:12-17

12 Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place! 13 For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.” 14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who had married his daughters, and said, “Get up, get out of this place; for the Lord will destroy this city!” But to his sons-in-law he seemed to be joking. 15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” 16 And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he[a] said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”

Verse Twelve: Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place!

Verse Thirteen: For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”

Here we find out that these three men were sent by the Lord. I guess we can correlate that to when Jesus was sent to this world to save us from our sins. These three men are Lord as Jesus Christ is Lord.

Verse Fourteen: Lot went to his sons-in-law to tell them that they needed to leave Sodom, for the Lord was about to destroy the place. They unfortunately did not heed his warnings because they thought he was joking.

Verse Fifteen: Lot’s sons-in-law did not believe him so when the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.”

Verse Sixteen: And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city.

Verse Seventeen: When they had brought them outside, he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”

So we know that the Lord’s destruction of Sodom was imminent. The Lord was ready to render his judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah. Unfortunately, for the people in these cities, it was too late for them to repent. Luckily for us, we still have time to repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. It is never too late to repent of our sins irrespective of what we have done. The only ones it is too late for are the ones who died in their sins for as long as we still have breath in us there is always hope of redemption.

Thank you for reading the bible with me.

I want you to know, that no matter who you are out there or what your history is, God promises salvation to you and the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s son, cleanses you from all sin. No matter what you have done you will be forgiven and saved as long as you accept Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, that He sent down here from heaven to be a sacrificial lamb for the cleansing of our sins so that our names can be written in the book of life guaranteeing a spot in heaven for us.

Jesus Christ is coming soon, sooner than you think! He could come back for his followers at anytime, so we should make ourselves ready. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, pray this with me from your heart: Lord Jesus I’m a sinner, you died on the cross to save me from my sin, you shed your precious blood to wash away every taint, every stain and now I believe in you Jesus. I accept you as my Lord and my savior. Come into my heart, save me with your precious blood. In your Holy name I pray. Amen.

I hope you prayed that prayer with me. God willing, I’ll see you tomorrow.
