Peace be unto you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Today we will summarize the book of Genesis chapter 19.

Let us start with a prayer:

Father God Almighty, our father and our God, we thank you for this blog. We pray that you bless this blog and everyone who reads it. Let your Holy Spirit come and take control of our blog as we proceed to interpret your word as the Holy Spirit directs. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior we pray. Amen.

Let’s continue where we left off!

Open your bible to Genesis chapter 19.

When the two angels arrived in Sodom, they went by Lot’s house. Upon seeing them Lot invited the men to come in, wash their feet, eat and spend the night, that they may rise early the next day and go on their way.

The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah had grown greatly before the face of the Lord and the three men who visited Lot were sent by God to destroy the cities.

The people of Sodom’s demand to Lot to release the men in   his house to them, so that they could have their way with them edifies the Lord’s decision to destroy the city. Lot’s plea to them did not change their minds, which led to their being struck with blindness.

When God overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt, he remembered Abraham and saved Lot for Abraham’s sake. So Lot and his family were allowed to flee for their lives and escape to the land of Zoar. They were instructed to not look back, but as they were fleeing Lot’s wife looked back and she was turned into a pillar of salt.

There after, we read about how Lot’s children manipulated their father into drinking alcohol in excess which subsequently resulted in his sleeping with his own girls, and that resulted in Lot fathering his own grandchildren.

As human beings in this world, we are always vulnerable to sins and temptations. Our adversary, the devil and his demons, never miss an opportunity to make us sin against Almighty God, as was the case with Adam, Eve, Cane, Noah, Lot, and all the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah.

We pray that God gives us the grace to always do his will and be righteous in our walk with him, so that we can stand firm against unseen forces in high places as stated in Ephesians 6:10-18 ‘Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places…’

We pray that our Father God Almighty in his infinite mercy gives us the grace to go and sin no more, so that we can be in God’s good grace and not on the receiving end of his wrath.

Thank you for reading the bible with me.

I want you to know, that no matter who you are out there or what your history is, God promises salvation to you and the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s son, cleanses you from all sin. No matter what you have done you will be forgiven and saved as long as you accept Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, that He sent down here from heaven to be a sacrificial lamb for the cleansing of our sins so that our names can be written in the book of life guaranteeing a spot in heaven for us.

Jesus Christ is coming soon, sooner than you think! He could come back for his followers at anytime, so we should make ourselves ready. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, pray this with me from your heart: Lord Jesus I’m a sinner, you died on the cross to save me from my sin, you shed your precious blood to wash away every taint, every stain and now I believe in you Jesus. I accept you as my Lord and my savior. Come into my heart, save me with your precious blood. In your Holy name I pray. Amen.

I hope you prayed that prayer with me. God willing, I’ll see you tomorrow.
